Object Description
Floor length, mid length sleeved, white dress with white embroiderment. There is an opening that goes completely down the front of the dress, which has silver claps/hooks to close it. There are seven hook, but they do not go all the way down to the bottom of the dress. There is a collar around the neckline, one that is more promonint in the back that front. Trimmed with lace, which has two different patterns set parrallel to one another and seperated by a very thin, solid line. The first pattern is of a flower with six peddles and a branch with five leaves coming off of it, the set repeats. The other pattern is another alternating images of a since flower with five peddles set lower to another flower which has a steam with two leaves coming off of it and three peddles on top. This lace pattern is also trimmed on the sleeve. Around the waist band there is an embroidered belt, which has a pink ribbon put under it. The band is about an inch wide and is made of very small see through squares. In the center of the band there are small rectangular opening that alow the pink ribbon to be fully seen, and next to these opening, still with the small see through squares is a dimond shape that is made by filling in nine of the squares. The pink ribbon has a small fringe on the end and comes out of the waist band in the center and would be tied into a bow. Coming off of the waist band, moving downwards are numerous thin lines set about a half inch from one another and go down about five inches from the waist. After that, all over the bottom of the skirt is a leaf like design. Starts of light in design, but as the eye moves down the skirt the design becomes heavier and put closer together. The skirt is broken up into four sections, each with the same pattern on it. The bulk of the image is towards the bottom of the skirt and the embroiderment creates a vase with a thin base, wide stomch, and a neck the same width as the base. It The design within the vase is multipe square with individual dots in the center of each. Coming off the sides and the lip of the vase are curved/swirled lines. Also set around the vase, somewhat tocuhing the sides are thin steams with leaves coming off othe them as well are three peddled either flowers or just more intrequit leaves. These steams are also coming out of the vase and moving upward. The higher the steam goes the thinner the pattern becomes. At the very bottom of the skirt there is an inch and a half thick trim that is plain white, but right above it is an embroidered, scalloped line. There is some discoloration of the dress as well as a few small stains and a hole in the upper back.
