Object Description
A needlepoint piece with a light brown velvet border. At each corner of the border there is an old, frayed cream colored bow. Within the velvet border there is a geometric pattern of ovals and rectangles in green with red accents. There are red lines around the pattern. In the center of the cloth there is a man in red on a chestnut colored horse. The horse is trotted on grass above big needlework flowers of extraordinary colors.
Origin
Handmade in 1921 in Leonidion, Greece by Maria Tevekelis for her sister, Marina Georgian's wedding. Donated by Helen Geprgian Busch, Marina's daughter.
