Reverse: "1 lepta" surrounded by two branches of leaves and berries, tied together at the bottom with a bow
Origin
In 1869, 14.975.677 of these coins were minted in Greece. The modern nation of Greece obtained independence from Ottoman Turkey in 1833. It functioned as a monarchy from that year until 1925 and again from 1935-1974. This coin features the bust of the ruler at the time King George I.
