Object Description
Violin bow made of wood, metal, and hair. The wooden stick is a reddish-brown varnish that has some fading to light brown. The screw is metal. The frog is wood with a black finish, an opal rectangular inlay, with a metal cap. There are four hairs left in-tact, and a few hairs at the bottom are frayed out. The tip of the bow is possibly bone or ivory.
Origin
Belonged to the grandfather of John Sepsis. Matches 1995.50.1.A violin because of similar opal inlay and wood color.
