Object Description
A tan color button up baseball jersey with black stitching at the ends of the sleeves and around the jersey collar and buttons. TheĀ jersey has red stitching with the words "Apollo G.A.P.A" embroidered on the front.
Origin
Baseball uniformed from the 1920. The uniform was owned by John Powers. Powers played for a neighborhood team sponsored by the Greek American Progressive Association (GAPA) while living in Chicago Illinois where Harrison Street, Halsted Street, and Blue Island Avenue once intersected in an area known as the Greek Delta prior to the urban renewal programs of the 1950s.
