Object Description
Early 1900's Princess Confectionery Halloween display case. The picture is in black and white. There are aprons with pumpkins hanging in the background, a bird cage in the right top corner and many pumpkin decorated cakes and candy boxes. On the bottom are more pumpkin decorations. There is a sign in the middle which reads, "Special/ to-day/ assorted/ home made/ bon-bons/ 64 cents a box." There is a sign in the upper right corner which is cut off but reads, "Fresh and Tempting/ Sweetest day/ candies and chocolates." There is white writing in the left hand corner which reads, "Photo by /G. Phillos/ Bloomingtion, Ill."
Origin
The Phillos confectionary store and Princess Confectionary Store were both owned by Christ Phillos. These stores were located in Bloomington, Il. The pictures were taken by Jeo Phillos in the early 1900s.
