Object Description
Black and white photograph of 5 men holding various instruments. Drum set reads, "Veteran's Orchestra, Katsikas & Sons, Phone Rockwell 1930, and Young Fotopoulos, Phone Englewood 5051. Behind the men is a wall with a symmetrical floral/leaf design with an "A" in the center, and a flag right by a piano, also in the background of the men. Starting from left, the men play a clarinet, a violin, the santouri?, the drums, and the clarinet. All men wear suits and ties.

The Katsikas Orchestra is comprised of Andy Sera, Bass Fiddle; Ray Janas, Accordion; Sam Fotopoulos, Violin; John L. Katsikas, Santouri (Hammer Dulcimer); Lucas Katsikas, Clarinet; George Poulos, Saxaphone, Chris Fotopoulos, Drums.

The Katsikas Orchestra enlarges with a full complement of Greek and American music and dons uniform attire.

This is the orchestra that played for Their Majesties King Paul and Queen Fredrika of Greece on November 8, 1953 at the Civic Opera House in Chicago.
