Object Description
Beige, square-shaped table runner with geometric design around outer edge, scrolled tree design on opposite ends. the tree is blue and outlined with black. On the top of the tree, there is a yellow diamond, as well as yellow spots in the middle. There are also squares throughout the body of the fabric that have blue and yellow in alternating corners. There is a border around the fabric outlined in black. The border consists of a yellow flower with blue stems and leaves, in a square shape. The border is doubled up in the corners. The fabric is doubled over around the edges.
Origin
Embroidery was originally used to reinforce seams, then it turned into a decorative art. It often marks a girl's transition into womanhood.
