Object Description
Handmade multicolored cumberband. The base of the band is a think tan cotton fabric. Stitched on the fabric is a layer of navy cotton fabric. Then embroidered on the navy fabric are two figure 8 designs. The colors are red, blue, orange, green, and pink. At the top of the band there is a strip of navy corduroy fabric. The tie straps are the same navy soft fabric.
Origin
Donated by Becky and John Bisioulis. The cumberband is part of a traditional folk costume made in Greece. The costume is circa 1890-1920.
