Object Description
Black and dark red striped 'tagari' handbag. Dark red and black stripe with X pattern of yellow, red, beige and green with dots between the lines. There is also row of thin stripes of yellow, blue, red, green, black and beige below and above the X design. The X pattern is repeated twice on each side of the bag. The tagari has a red ang black handle that is sewn to the top of the bag at the edges and in the middle of each side. There is red stitching along the edge
Origin
Tagaris were often used for gathering produce or as handbags. They are generally made of wool, and are woven from one piece of fabric which is then stitched together at the sides.
