Two-layer, white cotton petticoat.  Top layer is pleated, extends about half-way down and is finished with a flat ruffle.  Under the flat ruffle, is wear the second layer is attached.  It is made of the same white cotton, however, the last 10 inches or so is made up of white eyelet fabric depicting leaf and vine patterns, checkered squares, and other decorative abstract patterns. Bottom hem is scalloped and trimmed with white thread.

Handmade. brought the embroidered half-slip (petticoat) and pantelets (1996.2) to America in 1910. She emigrated from Kathikas, a village in the Paphos area of the Island of Cyprus. The items were stored in her trunk.
