Object Description
A red color fez with black tassels on the top. Inside the fez is Arabic writing. The fez is fashionable and was worn by women. Based on the Arabic writing the fez may have come from Morocco.
Origin
This item of head apparel was adopted as city dress for women in Athens as part of the Amalia costume in the 19th century.
