Object Description
Brass metal mortar (to go with pestle .B). On the mortar there are 6 etched lines and two lines towards the top of the interior.
Origin
Donated by Olga Garoufalis. The mortar and pestle have a turkish design. Whom used the mortar and pestle is unknown. It was most likely used for grinding, mixing, and crushing seeds and hard grains. The grains were mostly used to make heavy breads for the home and church. The mortar and pestle come from Corfu, Greece circa 1950's.
