Object Description
Copies of 4 pages of handwritten personal diary from Ensign George P. Sotos composed on the day that WWII began. The blank parts of the text were removed by the military due to security instructions.
Origin
George was 21 at the time and aboard the USS Nitro (AE2), an ammunitions ship, in the approaches to the Panama Canal.
