Object Description
A road sign desginating the intersection of Halsted, Blue Island and Harrison streets in Chicago, the old center of Chicago's Greektown. The intersection has long since been eliminated since the development and expansion of the University of Illinois at Chicago and the I-290 expressway.
Origin
The corner of Harrison, Blue Island, and Halsted was the epicenter of old Greektown until it was demolished to make way for both the 290 expressway and the University of Illinois at Chicago campus.
The area was commonly referred to as "The Greek Delta" during its heyday.
