Object Description
Black and white panoramic photograph of GAPA (Greek American Progressive Association) banquet at the Morrison Hotel Terrace Casino in Chicago, Illinois.   Everyone is in formal attire; ladies are wearing dresses, and many are also wearing hats.  The men are in suits and ties with neatly combed hair.  The entire room is arranged in around a circular wooden stage which dominates most of the foreground on the left side of the picture.  The floor of the stage is constructed with finished hardwood and has a short flat metal rail running around the outside edge.   In the upper left-hand corner of the photo, a white art-deco styled mezzanine rises from behind, full of banquet tables and well-dressed guests.  Terraced seating progresses from the stage to the outer edges of the room and creates 4 levels of cloth-covered banquet tables, each one full of dining men and women.   The semi-circular table closest to the stage is covered with a formal white tablecloth, all of the other tables are covered in table clothes bearing large checker patterns.  Most of the men and women are looking towards the camera as the picture is being taken.
